A keen interest in Intellectual Property rights led to her
graduation last year with a degree in Law (an
undergraduate degree in the UK), following which Dot
worked at a top start-up incubator in London for five
months. She now works as a freelance web developer
in sunny Vancouver.
[some more about]
She enjoys graphic novels (particularly Lucifer &
Sandman), gaming (the Dreamcast being the best
console ever, and she's willing to fight about it) and
photography. She also favours the traditional British
institutions of Doctor Who, utterly deadpan humour
and the ability to consume vast quantities of strictly
quality beer.
She'd probably enjoy a really good chat about the
justice implications of the UK and Canadian laws on
(free) healthcare and (less free) sexuality, or the
changing legal role of trade marks.
In type with what the NYT breathlessly refers to as
"modern urban nomads" Dot has lived in three
countries over the past two years: Britain, the
Netherlands and Canada (four if you count some
extensive stints in San Francisco).
